The story & the people behind it

After a Parkinson’s diagnosis, filmmaker Sonia Machado-Hines turns the camera on her own life. Alongside her husband and producing partner, Terence Bernie Hines, she begins a personal search for answers, connection, and ways to keep creating.

Through her experience and those of other people living with Parkinson’s and their caregivers—including Ed Begley Jr. and Rachelle Carson-Begley—the film explores how illness reshapes work, relationships, and everyday life.

Sonia meets patients, caregivers, doctors, and researchers, documenting what helps, what does not, and what remains unknown.
